Forty is a wonderfully sound and consistent horse. After a good Juvenile season he made a more than satisfactory seasonal return if behind the runaway winner the jigsaw man at Aintree last week showing that he can win of his mark of 125 and have a good summer season. There are also opportunities for him on the flat of his mark of 57 Due to run at Stratford Saturday 29 may he represents exceptional value at £10,000 for a 1/2 share + vat (reclaimable)

Goodwood Starlight pulled his way into a handy position early on. He kept on gamely under pressure when it mattered and, although he remains on a long losing run, has clearly benefited from aswitch of stables this season.

Robert Lucy Butler giving a thorough explanation to the owners of Goodwood Starlight.
April came and went with a few April showers, but overall a dry month and cold and the lack of grass is quite noticeable. We had 750 ewes produce over 1000 lambs and they are eating everything like little hoovers over our part of the beautiful south downs! The new National Hunt season has begun and although not too many winners for us, we did manage over £60,000 in prize money which in this current day and age is quite an achievement! This new season has kicked off with plenty of horses to come out through the summer.
NEW - MOONWOLF - (NZ)
=====================
by Ustinov ex Moonrise
Owners: The Kiwi Club
Moonwolf arrived last month from New Zealand. A homebred by the owners he came to me to continue his career over jumps. He has settled in well and showing an apptitude for jumping if not a little confused by the English weather!
MOHANAD
=======
Fully recovered from his enforced break he is promising a bright future. After a very pleasing return at Leicester on the flat he ran his little socks off at Sandown, where, on his only 4th hurdles run - and the first in a handicap he finished a very respectable 4th! Usually, over jumps, if you are beaten two and a half lengths you're at least second - but no, we were 4th - gutted! He will continue both on the flat and hurdling this season and there is good reason to hope he will be successful under both codes.
MR MUDDLE (2006)
=========
Owner: Saloop
He is such a poppet, does nothing wrong, has great attitude, jumps well and is showing enough to have a spin on the flat at the end of the month.
EASTON CLUMP
============
He has gone home for his holidays after a touch of the sniffles. It quickly became apparent that the ground would be against him by the time he was ready to return.
GOODWOOD STARLIGHT
==================
So pleased with this yard debut when he was 2nd at Folkestone. He came out of the race fine but a dirty scope has kept him off of the track. he ran at Windsor last night (Monday 17th May) and ran a cracking race to come third under another excellent ride by Robert Lucy Butler. The owners are a really enthusiastic bunch and the yard are all hoping that a win for them and Robert is not too far away!
Jamie Goldstein has been doing a little gently schooling with him and he clearly likes his jumping if he can continue to settle enough. he does have huge potential as a hurdler especially as the run at Folkestone confirmed that he will go on any ground. An exciting prospect.

2006 BAY FILLY BY SILVER PATRIACH EX COURT CHAMPAGNE
=============================================
To be conpletely honest, I had forgotton she was around. I purchased her as a yearling to keep another one compnay and she has been untouched since then. Now broken in she is now in training and is trying to at least emmulate her last four dams.... by winning of course! :0)
WHIPPERWAY
==========
Whipper is enjoying a break. Hurdles are her future and will run over them next.
REACTION
========
He's turned away as well now, having had this 3 runs earning a mark of 121. As I've said earlier about him on this website, he will be a better horse next year with a bit of cut in the ground and two and a half miles and a novice too. So something like the Persian War at Chepstow jumps (excuse the pun) to the front of my mind which is the same card as the Silver Trophy for second season novices that might suit Mohanad. In racehorse training - there always has to be a plan!
FLYINFLYOUT
============
Was very pleased with her run at Goodwood on her debut for the yard. Finishing 4th over 10 furlongs was very encouraging in view of her making a hurdler. We tried her over 12 furlongs next were she showed up well for a long way but ultimately didn't get that far, not the end of the worlds we shall find something else for her over 9 or 10
APPOINTMENT
===========
She was disappointing at Fontwell and that's not an intended play on words! Nothing seriously wrong has come to light and I hope she will show better next time.
LAST ONE STANDING
=================
He made his hurdling debut at Huntingdon and showed that he will go over fences sooner rather than later. Overall it was a satisfactory enough debut, but he is better than that and I hope we will see that soon.
SCREAMING BRAVE
===============
He's fully recovered from his touch of the sniffles and although working well is not yet working like he can do. There is nothing obviously wrong with him so will probably have a run and see what happens.
BLAZING BOLTE
=============
She is working well with a view to running soon. There is no sign of her heart problem returning and I hope to run her early in June.
FORTY THIRTY
============
He wasn't quite ready for Punchestown and a bug cost us a critical 3 weeks so with a lack of suitable races for him of his rating of 125 I had to take him to Aintree last week were he ran an absolute stormer on his handicap debut and seasonal return finishing 3rd behind a runaway winner showing plenty of promise for a good fun season. Due to run at Stratford Saturday 29th May.
A half share or 2 quarters has become available in Forty Thirty. Hes a four year old bay gelding by Poligiote out of Ciena by Goldaway

KASHMINA
========
She made her return at Brighton and will come on a little for the run. There is a lack of suitable hurdle races for her without travelling a couple of hundred miles there her rating of 104 is a pain! However she is a couple of pounds below her last winning mark on the flat and there are plenty of races around without travelling too far. It's not that I mind travelling it just seems more sensible to wait for the races closer to home. She will run at Brighton next Friday. (28th May 2010)
TARAWA ATOLL
=============
She is just so sweet it's untrue, but not entirely perfect as she likes a bit of cut in the ground with this in mind she is now on a break. She's been placed as a juvenile and still a maiden for next season and has a workable handicap of 98.
A half share has become available in her also. Further details to follow.
TOBAGO BAY
==========
He is such a little super star! Ran his little socks of behind a runaway winner at Uttoxeter and Afsoon back in 3rd. He will keep running well in these races but of 130 he will need no well handicapped horses if he's to win. His eagerly awaited chase debut will happen beginning of June.
