NEWS AND UPDATES FOR DECEMBER 2010 - TWO WINS FOR INDIAN VIOLET AND A GREAT SECOND FOR MR. MUDDLE!

MR MUDDLE A VERY RESPECTABLE 2ND AT PLUMPTON ON MONDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2010 ON HIS HURDLING DEBUT!

On only his second run ever Mr. Muddle put in a very respectable effort up against a horse that the connections had paid £125,000 for.

On this evidence, there is clearly more to come from Mr. Muddle given his lack of racing experience. He is unlikely to be 66/1 next time though!

Mr Muddle raced enthusiastically out in frontand, despite not always being fluent, made a bold bid. He was a sitting duck coming to the last, but this rates a very pleasing debut effort and vastly more encouraging than his sole outing on the Flat back in May.

===========================

INDIAN VIOLET picked up a penalty when winning well here on Monday, on his first start for this stable, but that still left him looking nicely treated on his best form. The drop in trip posed him no problems and he followed up in pretty good style, although he did hang a little when coming with his challenge.

Heard in the weighing room:

When asked what Jamie Goldstein does when there is no jumps racing, he has been heard to quip " I lose a quick stone and ride on the flat!"

MONDAY 6TH DECEMBER - INDIAN VIOLET WINS AT LINGFIELD AT 8/1 - yet another great team effort!

Congratulations to the whole team - and another win for Jamie Goldstein on the flat!

===========================

They went an overly strong pace and the time was 2.05 seconds quicker than the first division.

This wasn´t much of a race, but credit must go to the Sheena West team for sending out INDIAN VIOLET, who had gone a combined 17 races without success for two other stables, to win most convincingly. These connections paid just £2,800 for him at Doncaster in November, but have immediately found the key to a gelding once rated 69. Having travelled noticeably well, he was never in danger, despite edging onto the rail in the closing stages. He´s set to go hurdling at some stage and should do okay.

DECEMBER NEWS FROM THE YARD

Image:

The festive season is upon us but unfortunately rather overshadowed by the festive weather, which is playing havoc with everything it can. We've had a good foot of snow and it's all rather inconvenient to say the least. Even my washing machine has frozen and I think I've burned 3 large trees on my little fire indoors. My Megane CC looks just like that again rather than the Lamborgine the snow fashioned it into and BT have even fixed my broadband. It only took four days! We can see the sheep again as well!

UPDATES ON THE HORSES
=====================

MOHANAD (2006)
==============

He is enjoying his well earned winter holiday, well I hope he is. Itis not like he can handle skies or even a snowboard, but he's on holiday and will enjoy it!

MISS BOLTE (2005)
=================
She'd doing well and aim to run her in a few weeks time.

GOLAN WAY (2004)
================
Fortunately it all went to plan at Huntingdon for him, when he displayed again his trademark toughness and battling qualities. Every runner had a go at him at some point in the race but he wasn't for letting anything past him and in the end won comfortably, his jumping is getting better and more polished in every run and he is really looking like he needs to go up in trip now. With an official rating of 146 over fences handicaps are not an obvious way to go with him and as he likes a flat sharp track he will be aimed at Kempton on Boxing Day for the Feltham Novice Chase.

MR MUDDLE (2007)
================

We are very pleased with him and how he's going he's schooling well and Plumpton on 13th is the aim.

DUBAI GLORY (2008)
==================
This delightful 2 year old is also (hopefully) enjoying her holiday!

FLYINFLYOUT (2007)
==================
Ran at Huntingdon and ran well for a long way. She just needs to learn to settle and let herself get the trip. She jumped ok enough and seemed to enjoy it. Handicaps will be the route with her.

APPOINTMENT (2005)
==================
On box rest after a little niggle. She'll start back on the walker very soon.

FUDGE (2006)
============

He's back in work now.

*NEW* (2009) brown colt by Araafa ex Entail

I bought him at Newmarket. He's a a good size if a bit backward, but his Mum won 3 races and has bred 4 winners so with a bit of time he'll be fine.

*NEW* (2009) chesnut colt by Shirocco ex My Mariam

A bonny colt again purchased from Newmarket sales. His mum won at 2 and has bred 5 winners as 2 year olds and over hurdles, so with any luck at all he should make a back end 2 year old before the Hungarian Derby at 3 and then he can go jumping. I love a plan.

JUST JOSIE (2006)
=================

Very pleased with her comeback run at Lingfield in horrible groun. She should be out again sooner rather than later weather depending.

BLAZING BOLTE (2005)
====================

She's going well and will be out in a few weeks.

MOONWOLF (2004)
===============

Would liked him to have run at Plumpton last week but the meeting was abandoned. He holds a few entries for next week.

SCREAMING BRAVE (2006)
======================

Made the trek to Taunton for his return and he and Jamie parted company rather unceremoniously at the 7th. Far too far out to say what might have happened but thankfully horse (and jockey) in one piece and will run as soon as possible.

FORTY THIRTY (2006)
===================

He was very disappointing at Newbury and never got in to the race at all. We will try him in a lesser race over a bit further next time as he certainly finished full of running.

WHIPPERWAY (2007)
==================

Happily back on track at Folkestone and although she went off favourite the main thing was to get her round and hopefully in the money which she duly did. I think the ground may have just have been too much for her to cope with that day. Entered at Fontwell on the 7th of Dcemcember.

DENTON RYAL
============

She's very well, looking for better ground for her now and she's in at Warwick Sunday (if it's on)

INDIAN VIOLET (2006)
=====================

The plan is to run him in amateur races over the winter. He might try a bit of hurdling too.
